ABOUT TRANSPLANTATION & ADVANCED HEPATOBILIARY SURGERY

MESSAGE FROM THE INTERIM CHIEF OF TRANSPLANTATION & ADVANCED HEPATOBILIARY SURGERY

University of Utah’s Division of Abdominal Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery is Utah's only comprehensive transplant center. Since our inception in 1965, we have been dedicated to providing cutting-edge care, beginning with our kidney transplant program and expanding to include both living and deceased kidney and liver transplants.

Through our Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship, we prepare future transplant surgeons for successful academic and surgical careers. With TACC accreditation for kidney transplantation, our two-year fellowship offers extensive training in liver and kidney transplants from deceased and living donors, pancreas transplants, and organ procurement procedures. Fellows also gain hands-on experience in hepatobiliary surgery, as well as laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques.

Additionally, we pride ourselves on our innovative research. Our researchers are actively involved in a wide range of studies, from conference presentations to publications and clinical trials, covering various procedures and conditions in transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery.

We are committed to delivering excellence in patient care, education, and research in abdominal transplants and hepatobiliary surgery.

GIVE TO SUPPORT TRANSPLANTATION & ADVANCED HEPABOBILIARY SURGERY

TRANSPLANT BUDDY FUND

The Transplant Buddy Fund provides help for patients and families as they await and undergo transplant surgeries. Many of these patients are from all across the Intermountain West, and are in Salt Lake City for an extended period of time. As housing and gas prices have increased dramatically, your support is more important than ever to help families during this crucial time in their lives.

Your gift will support these families with housing and travel stipends, and help with other costs not covered by health insurance. Your tax-deductible charitable donation will make a difference and help save lives.

LEGACY GIFT

Making a legacy gift, through your will or other estate plans, is another way you can support future transplant patients. With a legacy gift, you can combine your philanthropic goals with your own financial, estate planning, and tax goals. We can work with you to determine the legacy you want to leave and to determine which type of gift works best for you. Consider a legacy gift to help transplant patients for years to come.
