CELEBRATING THE U OF U HEALTH BURN TEAM EFFORTS AT THE 2025 ABA ANNUAL MEETING

The University of Utah’s Burn Center team had a busy week at the 2025 American Burn Association Annual Meeting. Here is a breakdown of their activities by type of event:

Poster Presentations

  • Dr. Megan Wojick (general surgery resident) presented a poster, “Where Are We Now? Cultured Epithelial Autograft Application and Phase-Based Guidelines for Massive Burns”
  • Lisa McMurtrey (outpatient burn clinic and burn therapy manager) presented a poster, “Implementation of a Patient Discharge Class”
  • Hadley Regal (Burn SLP) presented a poster, “Compliance and General Incidence of Abnormal Cognitive Evaluations from the Electrical Injury Pathway”
  • Chelsea Gamero (outpatient burn CNC) presented a poster, “Implementation of a Interdisciplinary Scar Board”
  • Emily Beutler (burn nurse) presented a poster, “Work-Related Quality of Life in Burn Center Staff”
  • Krystle Ferreira (burn APC) presented a poster, “Improving Communication Through Education of Initial Burn Management for Patients Awaiting Outpatient Burn Clinic Follow-up”
  • Nikole Williams (burn nurse) presented a poster, “Implementation of an RN Led Quality Review Committee”
