Sharon Lo

Sharon Lo, MD

I was born and raised in Florida and went to the University of Florida for undergrad (go Gators), where I majored in biology and minored in theater. I stayed at the University of Florida for medical school, but decided it was time to make my great escape after 26-years in the land of sunshine, swamps, and #floridaman. So naturally I moved 2280 miles away to a place that is the exact opposite of Florida (ie- no humidity, mountains, actual seasons).

Laurel Mast

Laurel Mast, MD

A simple Oregon farm girl who wandered off to Maine for college. Majored in Philosophy, minored in Math, will discuss existentialism in the OR but at times can't do basic addition. Glad to be back on the west (best) coast for medical school and residency.

Matthew Swallow

Matthew Swallow, MD

Matt grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Columbia University where he was a member and captain of the Men’s Swimming and Diving team. He then earned his MD at Yale University School of Medicine. While at Yale he pursued interests in healthcare entrepreneurship and music/acting. He discovered a passion for Urology in medical school, as he was excited about the opportunity to utilize a combination of technology and manual skill to better the lives of his patients.

S. Mitch Heiner, MD

I’m originally from Ogden, UT. I’ve been married 10 years and have an 18-month-old little girl (as of 9/2020), my wife and daughter are the top priorities in my life. We regularly hike, cook, swim, and watch movies together. I grew up mountain biking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter and worked as a bike mechanic at a local bike shop in High School. I served a 2-year mission for my church in and around Hiroshima, Japan after graduating high school and attended Utah State University after coming home. I love cooking, reading (major sci-fi/fantasy novel guy here), mountain biking, cinema (yes…. cinema, I know it’s pretentious) and I have a fairly extensive, but modest, sneaker collection. My favorite band of all time is The White Stripes and my favorite album of all time is License to Ill by The Beastie Boys. If I wasn’t in medicine, I would be a traveling film critic living in a van with my wife and daughter spending our evenings working in a food truck, slinging street tacos (or maybe pizza) and fixing up bikes.
