Welcome Christopher Audu, MD, PhD

Christopher Audu MD, PhD, is an integrated residency-trained, adult and pediatric surgeon-scientist at University of Utah Health specializing in vascular surgery, medicinal chemistry, biophysical chemistry, immunology, and drug development as it relates to vascular disease and pathophysiology.

Dr. Audu’s Clinical and Surgical Specialties Include:

  • Cerebrovascular disease
  • Upper extremity arterial and venous disease 
  • Aortic pathology
  • Visceral artery disease
  • Aortoiliac occlusive disease
  • Peripheral arterial disease
  • Popliteal aneurysms
  • Popliteal entrapment syndrome
  • Iliac artery endofibrosis
  • Arteriovenous dialysis access
  • Pediatric vascular surgery

Dr. Audu received his medical and graduate degrees (Chemistry) from Dartmouth. He then completed a 1-year preliminary internship in General Surgery at Dartmouth, and then a 7-year Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Audu’s Research Interests Include:

  • Immunology
  • Medicinal Chemistry 
  • Biophysics
  • Epigenetic enzymes

When working with every patient, Dr. Audu’s primary goal is to help fix vascular-related ailments in a manner that meets the patient’s goals and needs within the scope of his expertise and practice. He strives to provide this patient-centered care by listening to each concern, gathering appropriate clinical information, and then making appropriate recommendations for care in a compassionate, competent way.
