The Section of General Surgical Oncology is part of a larger network of highly trained physicians and investigators primarily based at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah. Working to bring exceptional care to cancer patients in the Mountain West, we are the only a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center and National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and Commission on Cancer member institution in the state of Utah. Patients come from all over the mountain west region and beyond to see our specialists.
Our surgeons collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, interventionalists, genetic counselors, palliative care and pain specialists, nutritionists, nursing staff, and social workers to deliver world-class personalized, patient-centered cancer treatment. From multidisciplinary tumor board conferences to cutting edge clinical trials, we walk side-by-side with our patients and their families as they deal with all stages of cancer.
