Dr. Edward Sutherland presented important multi-disciplinary research at the American Public Health Association’s 2019 meeting in Philadelphia. His poster titled, "Knowledge, Attitudes and Practice about Breast Health in Peri-urban and Rural Areas in Eastern Ghana" brings together researchers from the Center for Global Surgery, College of Social Work, and Division of Public Health and advances a multi-disciplinary approach to reducing late presentation of Breast Cancer in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Reducing late-stage women’s cancers is a signature objective for the growing Center for Global Surgery, which integrates OB-GYN & Surgical perspectives into a unified spectrum of interventions.
Dr. Sutherland serves as West Africa Site Director with the Center for Global Surgery.
