Celebrating the Perfusion Lab & Honoring Don Kimble

Dr. Si Oottamasathien was awarded the National Institute of Health (NIH) R01 grant (1R01DK100868-01) to further investigate his project entitled, "Treatment of Bladder Pain by Novel Glycosaminoglycan Derivatives".  This will assist his laboratory group to further elucidate pain attenuating activities for their novel anti-inflammatory compounds.  

Dr. Oottamasathien is now a three-time recipient of the prestigious basic science award presented by the American Academy of Pediatrics Section in Urology, after his most recent presentation given in October 2012.  Finally, he was nominated by the Society of Pediatric Urology to present his work at the American Urologic Association annual meeting held this past May 2013.  Nine top early career investigator's were chosen from all fields of urology to present their research and Dr. Oottamasathien was awarded second place honors.
